A Memorable Beginning
A Memorable Beginning | In the turbulent days of 1972, when US B52 air fighters were bombarding Hanoi, citizens of Amsterdam (capital of the Netherlands) were filled with worry and wished to express their sympathy and support to the Hanoian people. Dr. I. Samkalden, then mayor of Amsterdam, mobilized his people to donate for the establishment of a modern, well-equipped high school in Hanoi to serve as an educational model after the war. Result of this noble gesture was the founding of Hanoi-Amsterdam High School. September 5, 1985 marked the official commencement of the first school year at Hanoi-Amsterdam High School. From then on, our school has served as a cradle for thousands of regional, national, and international merit students who later become leaders in all possible fields | 15 Years of Maturation and Development | In its first year, Hanoi-Amsterdam High School comprised students specialized in mathematics, physics, chemistry and literature selected from other schools.
