E-HAO RE-DEVELOPMENT PLAN


1. Mission Statements

In the latest meeting of E-HAO Board of Management, we have finally come up with the plan for E-HAO (English-version HAO) re-development, in order to fulfill the following purposes:

• We are going to officially establish H-A-O as a non-profit organization. Therefore, it is necessary to have a website for the organization in English.

• E-HAO plays a very important role in promoting HAO as well as Hanoi-AmsterdamHigh School and its students to our friends all over the world. Furthermore, E-HAO could contribute to build and develop the images of Vietnam and Vietnamese students in general internationally. If E-HAO would be a success, we could continue developing similar HAO versions such as F-HAO (French-version HAO), J-HAO (Japanese-version HAO)

• We are developing E-HAO as a common place for any member who is interested in English and eager to improve their English. Members can share ideas, experiences in learning English and help each other. Moreover, E-HAO will also provide their members with substantial information about studying abroad, scholarship, etc.

• Finally, the present of E-HAO is the next big step in H-A-O developments


2. Development plan

The plan involves three stages:
Stage 1: Re-organizing E-HAO committee
Stage 2: Organize English writing contests
Stage 3: Publish E-HAO magazine

2.1 First stage: Re-organizing staff and activities

The first stage is aimed at re-organize E-HAO staff and activities. Hopefully, E-HAO apparatus will be changed for the better.

E-HAO will be under o­ne General Manager (NPTK). At the second level of management, there is o­ne Quality Manager who is in charge of E-HAO Quality Committee and o­ne Human Resource Manager who is in charge of E-HAO Human Resource Committee. Quality Manager takes responsibilities about all written works in E-HAO and ensure writing quota. Human Resource Manager is responsible for finding capable people to fill vacancies and making sure that members are happy while working with E-HAO. Both of them will report to the General Manager.

The Quality Committee is comprised of three Moderators in charge of three main boxes of E-HAO (News, Writing and Who’s Who). Their responsibilities include encouraging members to submit good-quality compositions in time and collaborating with the Quality Manager to edit them. Each Moderator will oversee six Co-operators of their box (each main box has three sub-boxes; therefore there will be two co-operators for each sub-box).

The Human Resource Committee is comprised of several enthusiastic collaborators, who will assist Human Resource Manager in recruiting people, organizing meetings, making reports and developing E-HAO. Besides, E-HAO will have Consulting Committee and Technical Committee.

After the first stage, E-HAO will need at least 20 staff members. We are still recruiting. It will take 2-3 months for recruiting all the staff members needed. Yet we are going to have a meeting next week to re-activate E-HAO.

2.1.3 EHAO Commitment

E-HAO is working to ensure that every member is value in the team. Each member of E-HAO will have some certain rights and obligations. Details of those will be discussed during meetings with E-HAO senior staffs and individual interview with new members. Basically, each member should take responsibility for the work assigned (submits work o­n time, up to standard quality required). In return, E-HAO promise to try our best to be as flexible as possible to fit any member’s timetable. In addition, we will have a reward for The Best E-HAO Member every 3 months.

2.2 Second Stage: Organizing competitions

After completing the first stage, we will start organizing competitions including writing contest. A detailed plan will be drawn later. We will basically advertise to HAO members, the Consulting Committee will take judging responsibility, and the General Manager will find funds for competitions.

2.3 Stage 3: E-HAO magazine

After the second stage, we will select prized works and other selected compositions o­n E-HAO to make a magazine. The collection will be designed, edited and printed.
