H-A-O FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
Since … forever, football has been known as the king of sports, with millions of fans around the world playing and watching it. And of course, male members of H-A-O are not much different, they love it. Along with table tennis and swimming tournament, a football tournament had been organized to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hanoi- Amsterdam High School. It attracted many talented players of many H-A-O generations on the reunion day and gave spectators plenty of great matches and exciting scenes.
After a long “hibernation”, H-A-O members and the Football Club on H-A-O had agreed on organizing the “H-A-O FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT” for all male members who were interested. There were 12 participating teams, Physic (98-01), Russian (00-03), Sport Club (HAO), MATH (02-05), CHEMISTRY (03-06), IT (04-07), CHEMISTRY (04-07), PHYSIC2 (04-07), FRENCH-CHEMISTRY2-GEOGRAPHY (05-08), PHYSIC (05-08), ENGLISH3 (05-08), MATH1,2-CHEMISTRY1-IT (05-08).
After the opening day (Dec. 17th, 2005), all 12 teams tried their best to play in a high sportsmanship and solidarity of 20 generations of Hanoi-Amsterdam students. In those 7 days of the tournament, Nghia Tan foodball field was always filled with chants and cheers from the loyalty fans of each team. The final results, the best 2 teams, IT (04-07) and Physic (98-01), had beaten every other opponent to face each other for the prestigious final showdown on Saturday, Dec 24th at Van Phuc football field. Although the upper generation has more experience but in the end the strength of the youth had helped IT (04-07) finished on top in a thrilling match up. The final result, 1st prize belongs to IT (04-07), Physic (98-01) got 2nd and 3rd places go to French-Chemistry2-Geography (05-08) and Physic (05-08)
The prizes for the champion were a trophy and banner, while 2nd and 3rd places also got banners of recognition. In addition to those, each player also got a T-shirt from HAO valued 170.000 VND. The tournament had ended but it will be a fond memory for all.
