Vietnamese youths representing Vietnam at the 16th World Festival of Youth and Students (WFYS) in Venezuela from August 7-15 will promote the country's image in the eyes of their foreign peers.
The national preparatory committee for the WFYS said in Hanoi o­n May 31 that the Vietnamese delegation to the event will introduce foreign friends to Vietnam's renewal achievements.

A total of 135 Vietnamese representatives will join activities to develop bilateral ties with organizations of progressive young people around the world.

Vietnam's participation in the 16th WFYS will also demonstrate Vietnamese youths' activeness in the world's young people and student movements for peace, national independence, democracy and social advancement.

With the slogan, "For Peace and Solidarity, We Struggle against War and Imperialism", the 16th WFYS aims to unite democratic and progressive young people and students from all parts of the world to fight for a peaceful world, national independence, democracy, equality, progress, and sustainable development.

Within the framework of the festival, there will be 16 seminars o­n various issues, including peace, wars and imperialism, education, science, technology, culture, information, employment.

In addition, there will also be sports and cultural exchange programs, and bilateral meetings between participating delegates and representatives of international youth organizations.
