Name: Nguyen Manh Hai
Class: Math 2, Class of ?98
Present school: I have just graduated from University of Reading, Reading Town, England, and am currently enjoying my mid-season break 

What memory at Ams would you think of right away if asked?
Each time I recall of my high school time, a different memory comes to mind. So, I don?t really have a unique o­ne.

Favorite color(s): Blue and Violet
Favorite sports: Badminton, Ping-Pong, Soccer,Bowling, and Pooling.
Other interests: Music, Literature, Physiognomy,
Psychology, Philosophy, Computer Science.. .I like jogging, debating.. especially telling jokes to my girlfriend!
If you could come back to your high school days, would you wish to do anything that you might have missed? (for instance: saying ?I love you ?to a girl in your class) I would have made friends with other students from
other classes then, as many as possible.

When you come back to Vietnam, which o­ne among all your teachers will you want to see first?
Mr.Vo, my form teacher

Now, what are your hobbies?
Nobody can live without music, so please tell us "what's your favorite type
of music ?" and "name of the singer or band u most admire"
I like Classical Guitar, Rock Ballad, Romance music, and Traditional music Actually, I listen to anything I find interesting. My favorite band is MLTR ..or
probably also Firehouse.
How about movie, TV stuff, you know??
I like cartoons, comedy and action movies.

Which academic field are you most interested in?
Business Administration, especially human administration.
Who would you love to become?
My true self ? son of my Dad ? grandson of my grandfather (smile)

What ?s your weakness, you know?
I am always playing around. (smile)

Have you got your other half?- (this question can be answered or not)
Yes, I have. She is also a HAO member though she?s not an Amser. She has a close friendship with HAO and?many people know her.
What animal whose appearance makes you run right away ?
Any animal that chases me.

What personality of the opposite sex do you consider the most attractive?
That of my girlfriend?s (haha)

Have you ever cheated? In what subject? Were you ever caught?
Hmm, which subject?I don?t really remember. I guess whatever when I didn?t study. Probably, Kien- my 3 year-desk mate would probably know this. Right, Kien? I was never caught, I think?

After graduation, will you intend to come back to Vietnam to work or will you plan to work overseas?
I?ll certainly come back to Vietnam and spend the rest of my life there.

3. Questions concerning HAO

You are o­ne of the first members of HAO, is that right?
Yeah, but I don?t remember I was o­ne of how many.

How did you get to know this forum? Were you informed by HAO founders or other Amsers?
Mr.Mai met me at #Ams Chat room and he asked me to help with the establishment of the Forum. The way I see it, boards for earlier classes are rather poor. There are few viewers and topics.
So what do you think we should do to improve this?
Perhaps the older Amsers are now quite busy. But the important thing is to understand what they expect of the Forum: to express their feeling, to recall old memories, or just to discuss their fields of interest. It is essential that our Forum have more topics to satisfy members? needs By ?members,? I meant both the young students and the older o­nes . Now older members have been joining more topics, which is a good sign in our realizing our goal of promoting interclass discussions.


Usually, there are o­nly members of an individual class joining their class topics. Do you think we should delete all of them or keep them but establish no more individual class boards?
Deleting class forums will cause a lot of objection while keeping it as what it is now and adding no more make future classes feel unfair.Administrators?intention is to delete all the individual class boards because it?s notHAO goal. We want to establish exchanges among individual classes, not within them. HAO focuses o­n the common benefits. All members get to know each other through names,
interests but not through mere chatting. Obviously, the Forum is there to discuss everything but o­nly among classes. Individual classes can have their own websites.
The last question to test your psychology: 1+1= ?
1+1= More, but not enough.


Would you like to say anything else? Some suggestions for HAO, probably?
What I want to say to all Amsers as an Ams alumnus? Today I just said to o­ne current Ams student that high school time is precious. You should live it in such a way that when you look back, you can smile and say to yourself, ? I was o­nce like that?. As in HN-AmsYearbook?s foreword: ?A time to remember,? Ams is fun. It?s a school that has smart kids who both study and play well ? So you and other Amsers should feel happy and proud of o­nce having been an Amser.

And anything you want to say toHAO members?
I think HAO is a group of talented, enthusiastic people. I hope HAO will develop to be more useful, interesting and unforgettable. Surely, HAO will progress.
