Bui Le Chi, be happy and proud to be a focus
Interview with Bui Le Chi
It was a “beautiful” afternoon. The thunder roared outside my window, wind screaming hoarsely, rain striking on the steel roof, making a horrible noise.
I must admit that the afternoon was beautiful only for a monster longing for its prey. And the Monster-I came across my prey: a Very-Over-Extra-Super-Extreme-Too- Hot Hero on our school website, Chifucius, in Vietnamese: Chi phu tử. (The name Chifucius really fits because it “symphonically” represents the atmosphere in his wonderful work, HAO annals). He is the representative member of our website this February, author of the most attractive annals ever.
Born somewhere in Vietnam, on a day that appears in his profile, Chifucius received his original name as Bui Le Chi. ‘Raised under the socialist school’ (quoted from text book: GDCD) , he has formed himself a few distinct characteristics. It is those characteristics that lead him to the glorious place he is in now.
Interviewer: You are considered one of the hottest members on our website. So in your opinion, what makes a focus? (I am talking about a person not the focus of a convex lens or an eclipse )
Chifucius: I have never been a focus before, so it’s hard to tell what a focus can be. (Really?) I think that a focus is the one that draws a lot of attention, receives a lot of acceptance or just simply the one that is being investigated.
Interviewer: Clearly you are a focus because you are being investigated, at least by me now. one of the reasons for your “hotness” is your HAO annals first published this spring.
Chifucius: I think that my story receives some attention. (Some? More than 1000 views within a week. I wish I can have that “some” ) Perhaps, because I put many names of members in HAO into the annals. Some find it interesting and humorous; others think it is obscene and tedious. I don’t know.
Chifucius: Hmm, the question of the definition of a focus is difficult. The one about the feeling of being hot is much easier!!!
Interviewer: I am about to ask that! How sensible you are! So how is that feeling?
Chifucius: He he …
Interviewer: It is “hehe”???
Chifucius: Be patient. Hmm, it is funny, it makes me happy and proud because I have contributed something to HAO. In addition, there may be some people admiring me or curious about me. (Why don’t you say “certainly is”?) Of course I cannot be compared with many other silent contributors. Moreover, I myself do not have many advantages like that of my appearance or talents. (If you don't have talents, I might be an underachiever). But I can still be a focus, which is totally satisfying.
Interviewer: You don’t need to be so modest. Your annals tell it all. Not everyone can write as you. Your idea is amazing.
Chifucius: I think that many have that idea but they are lazy enough not to write. (So we should appreciate your diligence? Chifucius: hehe…) It started at the Tet holiday 's time. I felt great passion to write what I had been thinking of before. In our forums, many people are ideal. But everything has its days, comes and goes. I hope that with the annals I can record all the names though the story is not real.
Interviewer: Huhu, you're making me cry.
Chifucius: Although I often prepare the content, I continuously have to change to make it logical.
Interviewer: But why don’t you give yourself a position in the annals?
Chifucius: I have thought of that. However, it is difficult. I don’t want to be mundane but cannot boast too much. I am a bit shy. I intend to stop writing now.
Interviewer: What? That is detrimental to our people!!!
Chifucius: Now it seems that few people come to read. The annals may become boring. Why don’t I pass the writing to someone else?
Interviewer: Many people certainly will agree with me that another writer can never get out of the shadow you cover on the annals. For example, Sister Xuan Huong can write very interesting but she is herself, not Bui Le Chi.
Chifucius: But I am short of ideas, humors and “tuyet chieu”.
Interviewer: Ah, about the “tuyet chieu”. How can you create such things? Is there any connection between the characters and their personal life?
Chifucius: A little. For example, Dang Lien Huong, member of fun corner. I hear that she posts many “S jokes” so I gave her “Di Ben Day Thi Cong Phap”.
Interviewer: Ah, I know that you also have a “tuyet chieu”, the electric guitar. How about your playing the guitar?
Chifucius: Oh, I’m not good at all. I just know how to play. First I learned from Teacher Quang at Cao Dang Nghe Thuat Hanoi. After 3 lessons, he refused to teach me more. I turned to electric guitar, learning from Thanh Danang. However, he was not very zealous, so I dropped again. I downloaded lessons by Pettruci and self-studied. I love Progressive Rock, especially Dream Theater. Listening to Dream Theater, I reach the climax of pleasure. I gave up many other bands because of Dream Theater.

Wow, besides being an impressive author, our Chifucius is also a “startling” rocker. Although he does not consider him a focus, that modesty even improve his podium of glory. (Even if it is his plan to be modest, we can see his strategic mind _ I’m just kidding )
The interview ended when the song “Pull me under” randomly turned to “Learning to live” on my PC. Oh, I forgot to inform Chifucius that I also love listening to Dream Theater. If he knows, he may give me a reputable place in his coming chapter!!!
